Egyptian limestone female relief, Roman period, 3rd-4th century A.D.

DESCRIPTION
Female relief with a woman's upper trunk inside a deep niche, with a heavy cape wrapped around her shoulders and falling along her right arm resting on her waist. The lady has her hair tied up in a high topknot, her expression is rigid accentuated by her black eyebrows. In addition, her large, detailed ears stand out above her large eyes. Without any doubt an undaunted lady who magnificently preserves the polychromy and remains despite the centuries. This funerary stele is in line with the portraits of Al-fayum, which were used to cover the body of the mummies, thus following the tradition started with the funerary masks so that the spirit could recognize the body of the deceased.
