Roman Terracotta Measuring Cup “Modiolus”, 0-100 A.D.

This type of terracotta cup has a conical body that tapers down and is called Modiolus, the way to refer to the Latin term modius, a measure of grain and oil in ancient Rome. These modioli could have been used as measuring cups and also as drinking glasses.
