Egyptian Huge and rare alabaster jar, 1850 BC- 550 BC.

This vase was made of an unusually white and homogeneous alabaster and has a wide edge folded outwards. Its exquisite globular shape implies that it must have been stored in a cosmetic box, or perhaps on a display stand. The wall is remarkably thin, considering how difficult this form must have been to carve from the inside.
