Hands of Egyptian wood sarcophagus, Ptolemaic Period, 305-30 B.C.

DESCRIPTION
Symmetrical wooden hands from an anthropomorphic representation of a sarcophagus. These pieces represented part of the face of the deceased, the wooden hands were probably placed over the sarcophagus, and secured with nails as suggested by the marks found behind them.
