Mesopotamian head of ram, 1800 B.C.

This ram, beautifully represented in terracotta, belonged to the powerful Mesopotamian culture. These cultures, which were settling in different territories, made small pieces that they could move with them. Surely this was an idol that magically provided food to the population and was used by the children of the community to play. The ram is modelled in detail with the horns and eyes modelled and incised.
