Roman bronce lion coffer handle, 200-300 A.D.

The work that the ancient Romans did with bronze was one of the best preserved of ancient civilizations. In this case we are dealing with two appliqués of furniture, probably for a chest, whose two handles are ornamented with lion heads. These chest handles are circular in shape with lion heads in high relief with unkempt manes and whiskers details. The rings pass through the mouth opening.
