Roman galloned glass bowl,1st century A.D.

This is a glass galonada of green glass, elaborated to mold. The history of glass is more than three thousand years old (II Millennium B.C. in Mesopotamia and Egypt). The first pieces were made from models on sand cores to which were added ornaments of various kinds. A costly production method and, therefore, reserved to the social elite of the time until the first century BC of blown glass, which led to a revolution in trade and the introduction of it in the most modest social strata.
