This stele, probably with a funerary function, is dedicated to the Jewish religion. It is decorated with the menorah, a seven-branched candelabrum or oil lamp, which is one of the most primitive ritual elements of Judaism. This symbol is associated with the burning bush that Moses saw on Mount Sinai. This item is undoubtedly one of the best surviving examples of the Jewish communities in the Byzantine Empire.
